Liberty or Death

Bold words. Said with passion by a man with conviction. Patrick Henry meant to secure liberty for himself, his countrymen, and his posterity or die trying. Men are once again facing the situation that lead him to utter those words.

One needn't look far to see the growing tyranny in these presently united States. The police are being militarized. Congress passes laws to "find out what is in them." Every level of government furthers the evisceration of the entirety of the Bill of Rights. President Obama usurps powers not delegated to his office. These are merely the tip of the iceberg.

A cursory reading of the Declaration of Independence will show that we currently endure all of the grievances given as justification for separation from England.  I believe that the means for redressing these grievances have been made ineffectual. As such I am looking for a means to restore my freedom.

This is my purpose in starting this blog, to share what I find effective in my quest for Liberty so others may do the same. I am going to stop tyranny or die trying.

Liberty or Death.

What say you?

When will it stop?

As most people inside of the United States are aware, today is the deadline for filing tax returns with the IRS. All year, you work and can expect to see your paychecks sliced up to send Uncle Sam his cut.  Personally, I saw over 20% of my earned income taken right off the top, before I saw a penny. And yet this was not enough.

After meticulously entering all of my information, all potential deductions, I found that I still owed over $1200. More was required. And at this current juncture there are almost no alternatives for an average American to be able to avoid this situation.

On top of that, the federal government's current spending far exceeds the money that it collects. Even if all spending ceased tomorrow, the current deficit would not be paid off during my lifetime. As of right now, my unborn children on the hook for that bill.

Most folks who are religiously inclined are familiar with the concept of tithing. Ten percent of what you make/produce given to the Lord. This is done out of your own free will. Compare this with the compulsory payment of income taxes. The federal government has claimed first dibs on your income, before the you and before God. This should bother everyone that holds to the Judeo-Christian faith.

These are only the first three problems with this current system that come to mind. And each of them is more than enough to make an honest man angry. Personally, I'm furious.

Why is there not more of an outcry from the people of this country at this oppression? The ability of the average person to live is slowly being eviscerated. When will enough be enough? When will the people of this country delcare they won't take it anymore?

Look at the level of corruption in our government. Fast and Furious, Benghazi, Syria. How many more examples will it take for people to get the picture. Your tax dollars are directly funding these atrocities. By going with the flow you are condoning each and everyone of them. You bear the responsibility for them as much as those morons in D.C. How does that sit with your conscience?

If I hear one more person say that it isn't that bad or that they don't mind dealing with it I think that my head might literally explode. This is coming from individuals that I know to be quite intelligent. Why/How can they not see the injustice and immorality in this situation? It boggles the mind.

I can tell you right now I have paid my taxes, but I have done so under duress. My patience for enduring this tyranny has worn thin. I do not yet know the precise course I will follow in the future, but I guarantee that I will not pay in perpetuity.
